IN THE SKI TRAILS OF THE SKY HUNTERS
We follow the route Simen and Lars Martin took in Easter 2011 on Hardangervidda. The trip offers magnificent scenery between Fagerheim, Kjeldebu, Finse, Hardangerjøkulen and Krækkja.

See video from Hardangervidda in the video frame on the left. We follow the same route, which offers long gentle expanses, steep slopes and a fantastic view of the Hardangerjøkulen
TOUR DATA
Hardangervidda
Are you interested in taking part in a real spring ski trip on fantastic Hardangervidda?

We follow the route that Simen and Lars Martin used as a training trip for the Northwest Passage expedition. The main reason why this route was chosen is that it mostly moves close to tourist cabins, motorways and train tracks. This means that you mostly have a very short way to possible evacuation if Simen's health requires this.

Beautiful:
During the years Simen was training for the expedition, the focus was mostly on learning new skills, mastering winter outdoor life and trying to move between 5 and 11 hours every day. As a bonus of this, it turned out that this particular trip was very beautiful. You can see snow-covered expanses, mountains and the Hardangerjøkulen glacier. You can also see Finsevatnet with the legendary Finse in the background.

The trip:
We at Himmeljegerne will not define this trip as technically demanding. We mostly move on the winter slopes of the DNT and do not attempt any demanding sections.

As always when traveling in the mountains in both winter and summer, the weather can change quickly. The companions therefore decide whether it is safe to travel and the route can be changed along the way.
