PASVIK - FINNMARK 2017
IN2017 we are closing with an expedition with 5 participants. This year, the group will start the expedition at Ellenvatnet in Finnmark before paddling 15 kilometers towards the border with Russia and Finland. On the way, they will learn to set up camp, get food, go hunting and get ready to walk 4-5 kilometers on their feet up to the treriksrøysa between Russia, Norway and Finland.
Simen and Mads bring a female participant on the expedition for the first time. Nina Helene Karlsen, 21 years old from Lunner in Oppland, is a lady who likes to dance and attends Valdres Folkehøyskole on a daily basis. Nina got to know Simen and Mads after Himmeljegerne had given a lecture at the folk high school. She really wanted to join the big expedition, and in the time since she found out he can join, she has been training on both bikes and walks. Watch a film about Nina here: "First participant".
The sky hunters are also bringing along a locally known guy from Finnmark. Namely the big "Elvis" fan Tommy Martin Eriksen. You may remember him from the Facebook video we published last autumn? The movie with Tommy - FILM. Tommy has been on tour in the area before and is looking forward to getting to know the "søringan" as he says.

The expedition project "Full gas" gives us a lot of knowledge and experience related to going on a hard trip together with a group with different prerequisites. This challenge is part of what we seek and together experience mastery of.

We have a real Finnmarking with us. In 2016 we met Tommy in Svanvik and noticed that he was both a pleasant guy and someone we would like to go on a trip with.

Mads Andreassen
The "King of the Yukon" has been on an expedition before. Mads has Down syndrome, is blind in one eye and has gout.
The crew
For the expedition to be safe and to film Simen, Mads, Nina, Erling and Tommy are dependent on out of sixhelpers.
Lars Martin

Kristoffer Svarstad Wiig

Guide - Morten Johansen
From Ferd Friluftsoppleppeser we got a lot help in planning and implementation from Morten. Safety was established quickly the few times the group was unsafe or unsure during the Jotunheimen trip.
Doctor - Manuela Estop-Garanto
Manuela was on the trip as the medical officer. As several people in the group sometimes need medication and treatment, it was a great security to have Manuela.
Henrik Ridder Nilsen
Got the job as a potato on the Jotunheim expedition. Henrik showed tremendous strength throughout the days. Also had the main focus on supporting Ruben. This year he is Erling's companion.
MIKKEL THE DOG
To optimize the possibilities for successful hunting, we have the dog "Mikkel" with us. An experienced Finnish lace in its prime.
